Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Tom Whitaker — known behind the decks as Goodfoot — has been shaping dance floors since 1992. His journey began with a deep commitment to turntablism, sharpening his skills in DMC, Guitar Center, and Zulu Nation battles. Those early years laid the foundation for a career built on technical precision, musical depth, and an instinct for connecting with any crowd.

While attending college in Chico, Goodfoot became a staple of the local scene, spinning at sorority and fraternity parties, clubs, bars, and major college events. His versatility quickly set him apart, earning the trust to perform at step shows and parties for the Black fraternities and sororities on campus.

His talent led him to join the Mystic Roots Band as their official turntablist, recording an album and touring with the group. Around the same time, he was entertaining thousands each spring break at massive events in Rosarito, Mexico — bringing his high-energy sets to international crowds.

In 2000, Goodfoot relocated to Sacramento, making his mark as a resident DJ at some of the city’s biggest clubs and venues. He also became a mixshow DJ for 103.5 KBMB, where he co-hosted Westcoast Wednesdays, a platform that broke new music and featured appearances from some of the West Coast’s most iconic artists.

Since returning to the Bay Area in 2007, Goodfoot has continued to bring his dynamic sound to venues across Northern California. From premier nightlife destinations and rooftop parties to corporate events, school functions, concert venues, and underground clubs, his ability to read crowds and deliver unforgettable experiences has kept him a trusted name in the DJ community.

With over three decades of experience behind the decks, Goodfoot blends his turntablist roots with open-format versatility — seamlessly mixing Hip Hop, R&B, EDM, Latin, Reggaeton, Reggae, and Rock to keep every crowd moving. He also maintains a deep vinyl archive built over 30 years of digging and collecting, delivering all-vinyl sets rooted in turntablism, while embracing the digital era with a full catalog of music videos — perfect for venues that want both sound and visuals.

For Goodfoot, every set is more than a performance — it’s a connection, bringing people together and elevating every event with skill, style, and sound.
